When looking for a child care provider, I did so much research, I was worried who I could trust to care of my kids (what parent wouldn't be?) I didn't know who to trust, I looked into several daycares and there was a wait list for The Fun Factory. I was bummed at first but figured it wasn't my time. I did submit an email of interest to contact me when space was available. Several months later Ms. Carole contacted me because there was going to be available spots. We contacted through email, after hours or while children were napping and I asked a ton of questions as I had a list of what was important to me. She provided me with detailed explanation how she runs her daycare and sent me references. When my husband and I took a tour, we felt an instant feeling of comfort and peace. Ms. Carole carries herself with such grace. Before the kids started I sat in to observe a few activities before my kids started and it was such a joyous experience. I knew my kids would fit in just perfectly. We started when my kids were 22 months old and 3 years old. I wanted my kids to be together and hoped that lessons were provided appropriate to their age and development. Most child care providers do not mix age groups, but Ms. Carole does. I was so relieved, not just because I wanted to keep my kids together, but because I know how younger children could learn from older children, and older children could learn leadership through interacting with and teaching the younger kids. Ms Carole understands that not all children can be treated the same and they all learn at their own pace, come from different backgrounds and experiences. She is a teacher who meets children where they are and guides them to where it needs to be developed. When a child is learning something, Ms. Carole allows children to learn through exploration, her expertise, and other children. Children are always given the opportunity to lead the group outside to play, share their favorite book, and lead circle time. Circle time includes singing songs, reviewing the days of the week, learning about special holidays, music time with instruments, and so much more. Each child gets the opportunity to have 1:1 lessons with Ms. Carole while other children are practicing with writing or other activities. Ms. Carole is very tidy and keeps every corner of her home spotless. She is very particular to keep each child safe and happy. Routines help the kids be organized and know what to expect. Each day has different lessons but the routines are always the same. Children who are coming in new to Ms. Carole's group of kids tend to adjust really well, because the seasoned children already know what the daily routine is so she is given the opportunity to focus more on the new child getting familiar with the new environment. When my kids first started I was afraid that they wouldn't go down for nap times because of it being so new to them. During the first week Ms Carole would send pictures (and still does, to this day) to keep my mind at ease. When nap time came around she texted me photos of BOTH my kids sleeping peacefully. I was impressed. She stimulates the children with academic lessons and other activities that prepares them to have a good 1-2 hour naps. They are always learning new things. Now that it's been about a year since we've been with Ms. Carole and they've learned so much. I've asked my kids what they loved most about Ms. Carole being their teacher, they both responded, "it's fun!" and "Ms. Carole is kind". I love it! I don't know if other places do this, but Ms. Carole provides occasional "Parent's night out" where kids basically have a party, dinner, crafts, and a movie, so parents can to do whatever they need to do to unwind, take time for themselves and to emotionally refuel. I love that Ms. Carole does this for her parents. Another great thing she provides are parties for the families. There have been many events including field trips like the Puppet Show at Balboa Park, trips to the San Diego Zoo, Pumpkin Patch, Breakfast with Santa, and other fun things she plans! We are SO happy and blessed to have Ms. Carole as our childcare provider and teacher to our two kids and will be very sad when our kids grow old enough to start grade school. The Fun Factory is by far the best quality childcare that I've had the pleasure of having my son attend. Ms. Carole is extremely dedicated to the children she takes care of. The entire first floor is huge and just for the kids, it has a play room, art room, circle time/learning area, reading room, separate room for nap time, and is very clean and organized. There is also a large backyard for the kids to play and they all have so much fun playing together! She only serves healthy nutritional food. She offers alot of toys, creative and educational activites, and always changes up the activities so the kids don't get bored. My son has learned so much from Ms. Carole. She teaches the kids ABC's, writing, how to write their name, number counting to 100, adding, subtracting, colors, shapes, sight words, sharing, waiting turns, respect for each other, and manners. My son has been in her care for 2 years and has thrived socially, emotionally, and academically. I know he is getting the best care in a great environment. Choosing a day care for my son Leo took a lot of thought. I had written a list of the most important things that I would like to find in a day care for my son. The list was so long that I had to prioritize it to come up with my top 10 and be willing to compromise some of the items if needed. Little I know at that time that The Fun Factory would meet *ALL* the items in my wish list. The heart and brain behind The Fun Factory is Ms. Carol. She is a licensed care giver that goes the extra mile to provide a stimulating, clean and safe environment for children. She recognizes each kid's personal rhythms, style, strengths and limitations, and tunes into these when planning the pace and time for eating, sleeping, learning and playing. My son Leo was 2 years, 2 months old when he joined the Fun Factory. At that time the only language he could understand, and to some extent speak, was Spanish. A couple of months later, Leo's skills for listening and speaking English had greatly improved. Leo is now 3 years and 9 months old and he understands and speaks English at the same level he speak and understands Spanish. The Fun Factory is a great place for kids. The personalized lessons they receive from Ms. Carole is a big plus. Kids learn and play in a loving environment. Highlight activities include outdoor games, nature awareness, reading, music lessons, painting and other arts. I am deeply thankful with Ms. Carol for the impact she made on my son over the last two years. My daughter has been with Ms. Carole since the age of 2. She is now 5 years old and beyond ready for her first day of kindergarten. She's learned so much from letters to numbers, shapes, colors, addition, subtraction, site words and so much more. She writes her letters and numbers very well. She spells her name and knows our phone numbers. Ms. Carole gives the children many opportunities to lead so my daughter is very confident in speaking and performing in front of others whether it be other children or adults. The home is immaculately clean and organized. The first floor is completely set up for children only. She prepares healthy meals and snacks daily and frequently makes homemade fruit muffins, fruit yogurts and other healthy homemade items. She is big on manners and the children are taught to be respectful and considerate of others. We were very fortunate and grateful to receive this quality care for our daughter. We recommend The Fun Factory to any parents looking to place their child in a safe, healthy and thriving environment. Lisa B.

Trying to find a daycare is overwhelming. Being new parents, it seemed like we are always trying to play "catch up" with life around us. When we first visited The Fun Factory, Ms. Carole immediately made us feel at ease. There is a calming presence with her and the learning environment she has built. Our daughter is the youngest of the group and she instantly fit in with the rest of the kids who were much older. Ms. Carole provides updates throughout the day with emails and texts of pictures of the different activities that they are participating in. Our daughter has developed exponentially both academically and socially. She asks so many questions and is eager to learn. We cherish all the amazing conversations we have with our 2-year-old! Ms. Carole is licensed to take in more kids, but chooses to care for a smaller group in order to provide the quality care that each child needs. This is what separates Ms. Carole from the rest. The Fun Factory is fantastic! My daughter attended from 10 to 21 months. Unfortunately, we have moved out of the area: (I would kidnap Carole if that was a possibility.) Carole is a fantastic care provider, she is loving and provides a clean and safe environment for children to learn and play. Since leaving the Fun Factory my mission has been finding a place even remotely close to Carole’s standard of care but that has been impossibly difficult. Carole, Maya and I miss you dearly! Ellen M.

Placing our daughter in daycare was not an easy decision for my husband and I, although after a tour of The Fun Factory it was quite clear that it seemed to be the best place for her to receive quality care in a safe, happy and nurturing environment. One of the pluses that we are truly grateful for is that Ms. Carol prepares nutritious meals and snacks for the children daily. Initially, we were just grateful to have her basic daily needs met such as being kept clean, being fed and we loved the idea that she would get to play and interact with other children; however we had no clue that she would be receiving quality care at the level that is provided at The Fun Factory. Vanessa has been attending for about 6 months and is now 2 ½ years old. Within the time frame she has been attending, she has learned her ABC’s, numbers, shapes, colors, animals along with their sounds, several nursery songs, and has improved in her motor skills and basic every day manners. I attribute all the above to Ms. Carol’s passion for guiding, teaching and caring for these little ones with the Godly gifts that she has been given. Lisa B.

When our son turned 2 in September we were looking for a small in-home daycare/pre-school and after much research, we chose The Fun Factory and I’m so glad we did! Ms. Carole has provided a wonderful experience for him to meet and play with other toddlers in a safe, clean and fun environment. He comes home talking about his new friends and his vocabulary has expanded greatly! He loves doing crafts, playing and learning. It’s the best of both worlds to have someone who can watch after him AND prep him for preschool while I’m at work. Ms. Carole, nourishes them with healthy meals and minds and has created a great learning environment for all the children in her home. Ms. Carole watched my two children while I was working. I felt very lucky to have her. Our kids really like her and so do we. She is so professional and organized I really can't say enough. She has a weekly schedule they go by so I know what activities/crafts they do each day. She truly cares for the children and you can certainly tell she loves caring for children. She has so many ideas and is very knowledgeable in child development. The kids are very active, they read, cook, dance, do crafts. They learn new things everyday. Since my two year old has been under Ms. Carole's care she has improved so much in her temperament and she just seems like a happier child. We are very pleased and could not ask for anything more.
